My Honest Experience with Winc

I have been wanting to try Winc, a personalized wine club, for months! Prior to COVID-19, I couldn’t justify a wine delivery service when I could easily walk to some of my favorite wine bars in town. Now, with COVID-19 causing law makers to mandate social distancing and other regulations to keep everyone safe and healthy, I have only left my apartment a handful of times over the past two weeks. This made it the perfect time to try out Winc and enjoy having some of my favorite wines delivered straight to my door!

Winc was founded in 2012 off a shared belief that wine should be more accessible. The company has since grown to a community of hundreds of thousands of wine lovers & growing everyday.

After taking a quiz to learn about your palette and preferences, Winc recommends four wines to try out. You have the option to decide how many reds and how many whites you’d like to receive. I went with two reds, two whites and then threw in an extra bottle of white, because why not.... Quarantine isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so I’m going to enjoy myself!

I love how simple the entire process is with Winc! I am a huge wine lover and have taken a few wine classes in the past, but sometimes still feel overwhelmed at a wine shop choosing wine I know I’d like. There are just too many options! Thankfully, Winc takes the guess work out of choosing wine. In addition, they also provide recipes for each bottle of wine you receive so you know how to best pair the wine with food.

My Wine Review

I have so far only tried three of the wines: the 2018 Vinyasa Chardonnay, the 2017 Rose Obscura Red Blend, and the 2018 Passarola White Blend.

2018 Vinyasa Chardonnay | This was a great, light sipping wine that was fruity but still dry.

2017 Rose Obscura Red Blend | This wine is my least favorite so far. The first sip was sweet, but as the wine naturally aerated it hit me in the face with its floral notes. I told Matt it tasted like Bath & Body Works soap.

2018 Passarola White Blend |This was a refreshing white wine that reminded me of the summertime! A tad bitter, but a great sipping wine.

Thank you Winc for making social distancing a little more enjoyable! Even if life seems overwhelming right now, there are so many little ways to make your day brighter. I personally love having FaceTime wine nights with friends to make the distance seem a little less extreme. Want to receive $22 off your first Wince purchase and try it out for yourself?
