Merry Christmas + New Year's Eve Inspiration

Happy Holidays! I meant to get around to publishing this post earlier today, but time completely got away from me. (A food coma and two naps later, and now it’s 9 p.m.) Tomorrow morning we’ll be on the road to Matt’s grandpa’s house in North Carolina to celebrate Christmas with his family. Before then, however, I wanted to make sure I share a little New Year’s Eve outfit inspiration for all of you with exciting plans to ring in the new year. I, personally, will be at my friend’s cabin in North Carolina, where we’ve celebrated almost every New Year’s Eve since freshman year of college.

I had this outfit in mind for weeks and was so excited to finally have the opportunity to wear it on Christmas Eve. The gold sequin mini skirt is from Tobi, and my turtleneck is from last year’s ASOS collaboration. The second I saw the skirt, I knew it would be perfect to pair with a fitted turtleneck and black booties. Because it is pretty short and form fitting, I opted for black opaque tights for a more comfy look. If you’re ringing in the new year somewhere chilly, a mini skirt, tights and a fitted sweater is a great look that also keeps you warm.

I got so many DMs on Instagram asking what I got Matt for Christmas! I knew it would spoil the surprise if I told you guys, but I bought us matching Christmas pajamas from Old Navy, and put $$$ toward the road trip we’re taking this summer. (Follow our road trip Instagram account!)

I no joke had the hardest time finding matching PJs in both of our sizes (XS & L) in the same pattern online that weren’t sold out. Is it just me, or were matching Christmas pajamas even more popular than in past years? Nonetheless, I think unwrapping pajamas on Christmas Eve is a cute tradition I hope to continue in our future.

Merry Christmas to all & to all a good night
